When is the Sift coming to Minecraft?
Yes — the Sift is coming to Java and Bedrock in 2027. Mojang has confirmed both editions, but has not announced a month, a version number or a snapshot date. You can already explore the dimension in Minecraft Dungeons II.
Is the Sift in my edition?
- Java Edition
- Announced for 2027
The Sift is planned for vanilla Java. No release build or snapshot date has been announced.
- Bedrock Edition
- Announced for 2027
Bedrock is included in the announcement. No separate release date or preview date has been announced.
- Minecraft Dungeons II
- Playable now
The Sift is part of Dungeons II. That release does not add the dimension to your Java or Bedrock world.
What is the exact Sift release date?
The announced window is 2027. A specific day or month has not been given. Both editions are named, but that does not confirm they will receive the Sift on the same day. For the announcement history and the remaining release milestones, see the Sift release timeline.
Will the Sift be in the next Minecraft update?
No named Minecraft game drop or version number has been assigned to the Sift in the announcement. The ice caves shown in the same broadcast are a separate reveal; their appearance does not date the Sift update.
When will the Sift snapshot or Bedrock preview arrive?
There is no announced Sift testing schedule. The 2027 release window does not tell us when a Java snapshot or a Bedrock preview will open, or which edition would test it first.
Can I enter the Sift in Java or Bedrock now?
The announcement does not provide a vanilla entrance or portal recipe. Dungeons II has its own rifts and progression, explained in how to enter the Sift. Those instructions do not unlock a dimension in Java or Bedrock.
If a video offers a Sift download for vanilla Minecraft, check whether it uses a fan mod or add-on. See Sift mods and downloads before treating one as the official update.
What has been shown for vanilla Minecraft?
The reveal shows a pink landscape under a teal sky and introduces the blub. It does not confirm that every Dungeons II region, enemy or boss will be copied into vanilla. The two games share the Sift name, while the full Java and Bedrock feature list remains unannounced.
