The blub
The “Sift bunny” people are searching for is the blub: a small, glowing, rabbit-like mob that lives in the Sift. It is peaceful, and it is the only Sift mob Mojang has named for vanilla Minecraft, where it arrives with the dimension next year. In Minecraft Dungeons II you can already meet it, and Deluxe Edition owners get one as a pet.
In vanilla Minecraft
- Named by Mojang as the one mob that calls the vanilla Sift home.
- Seen for a few seconds walking through pink sculk grass at Minecraft LIVE.
- Not in any snapshot or preview yet; there is no spawn egg or command for it.
- Behaviour, drops and breeding have not been announced.
In Minecraft Dungeons II
- A peaceful, glowing mob native to the Sift.
- Loves to bathe in ichor, the liquid that burns heroes.
- A pet with the Deluxe Edition, alongside the Soul Cape and four hero skins.
- Playable today on PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and both Switch consoles.
Why “bunny”
Two tall ears. The broadcast's own audio description calls it rabbit-like, and the name stuck. It is not a rabbit variant: it is a creature of the Sift, and Mojang has not said it will act like a rabbit.
Getting a blub today
In Dungeons II, blubs live in the Sift itself; the developers showed one wallowing in a pool of ichor. Get there through a rift (see how to enter the Sift). For one that follows you around, the Deluxe Edition includes the blub pet.
In vanilla, nothing yet. When the Sift reaches a snapshot or preview, this page will cover where blubs spawn and what they do. The release tracker has everything Mojang has said so far.
Other peaceful Sift creatures, the Singer, the tuners and the echo golems, are in every Sift mob.
