Sift mods and fake downloads
Every video that shows someone walking into the Sift in Java or Bedrock is running a fan-made mod or add-on, not Mojang's dimension. They can be fun, but they are guesses at a place Mojang has barely shown. And any “Sift update” download for Pocket Edition is fake.
| You saw | What is really going on |
|---|---|
| "How to enter the Sift in Minecraft" | Gameplay of a fan mod. On Java that is usually Mielon's The Sift; the video descriptions say so if you open them. |
| "The Sift is out now in vanilla" | It is in no snapshot, preview or release. Mojang says next year, with no date. |
| "Minecraft PE Sift update, download here" | No such version exists. Those APK pages are third-party files; do not install them. |
| "Get the Sift cape in Dungeons II" | The cape people call the Sift cape is the Aurora Cape, and it works only in Java and Bedrock. |
| "Healthy sculk" and other Sift block names | Fan names. Mojang has named one vanilla Sift thing so far, the blub. |
The mods themselves
Mielon's The Sift (Java)
A Java Edition mod on CurseForge that builds its own Sift dimension. It is the one most “enter the Sift” videos use. It is a fan project, not a leak of the real thing. Mielon's The Sift on CurseForge
The Sift Dimension (Bedrock add-on)
A Bedrock add-on listed on CurseForge and mcpedl whose own description says it aims to recreate the experience. Same deal: a fan's version, installed like any other add-on.
Staying safe
- Skip APK mirrors offering a “Sift update”. Get mods from the listing pages their authors use.
- Back up your world before adding any dimension mod.
- The real Sift has not reached any snapshot or preview yet. Watch minecraft.net for official news.
