When is the Sift coming to Minecraft?
Next year, in 2027, for both Java and Bedrock. That is all Mojang has said: no month, no update name, no snapshot yet. Until then, the only place to walk into the Sift is Minecraft Dungeons II.

What Mojang said
“it'll also be coming to Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition next year.”
“Mojang Studios confirmed that the Sift will come to Minecraft in 2027”
The broadcast closed its Sift segment on a title card naming both Bedrock and Java Edition. Whether the two get it at the same moment has not been said, and the year is as precise as it gets for now.

September 29, 2026
Minecraft Dungeons II launches. The Sift becomes playable for the first time.
next year (2027)
The Sift arrives in vanilla Minecraft. No month, snapshot or update name has been given.
Still unannounced
- How you get there. No portal, block or structure has been shown for the vanilla entrance.
- Whether it matches Dungeons II. Mojang has not said the vanilla Sift will be the same place.
- Which update. No game drop has been named for it, and it is in no snapshot or preview build.
- What else lives there. Only the blub is named. The block names you see around, like “healthy sculk”, come from fans.
“Mojang isn't talking too much about how to access the Sift, or how it will stand out from Dungeons II's expression of it”
Where it will show up first
New Minecraft features usually turn up in Java snapshots and Bedrock Preview before a full release, so those are the places to watch, along with future Minecraft LIVE shows, where Mojang says it will share more. Until then:
- Be wary of “Sift update” downloads and “enter the Sift” videos: they are fan mods or fakes.
- The Sift-inspired Aurora Cape is the one piece you can have in vanilla now.
- Want to see the dimension? Enter it in Dungeons II, and see its regions.
